The organizing committee of the 1st Annual Akitu Festival, celebrating the
Assyrian Babylonian New Year 6759,
cordially invites you to join the festivities which will be taking place on
Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.
at Edessa Banquet Centre
1811 Albion Road, Etobicoke, Ontario.
Join us in this wonderful celebration commemorating the Assyrian Babylonian New Year which includes a lecture by Dr. Douglas Frayne from the University of Toronto, an Assyrian Art Exhibition, traditional music, food and special songs prepared specifically for this event. The show will also feature a fashion show showcasing the traditional clothing from various villages, as well as fun outdoor kids activities!
We encourage everyone, regardless of age, to join us in the exciting festivities scheduled to take place and show the community your pride and support us in this new endeavour for this New Year which will hopefully bring much happiness and prosperity to all!!
